Departing from the picturesque port of Sant’Antiaco in Sardinia, our journey took us to Carloforte and then on to the enchanting Aeolian Islands around Sicily. Stops at Favignana, Salina, Stromboli, Panarea, and Lipari were not only breathtaking but also a source of endless culinary inspiration.

The Challenges & Joys of Onboard Cooking

Cooking aboard a yacht comes with its own set of challenges, but that’s part of the adventure! With limited supplies during longer navigation periods, one has to get extra creative. Simple dishes like bruschetta topped with sweet tomatoes and basil or spaghetti aglio e olio took on a new depth when paired with the stunning surroundings.

In between preparing meals, I picked up a few nautical basics—tying knots, anchoring, and understanding what can (and can’t) be discarded into the ocean. Of course, there were also lessons learned the hard way, like the importance of securing the ladder before taking a dip!

This experience not only enriched my culinary skills but also provided invaluable inspiration for my luxury yacht catering services, where each meal is tailored to the unique needs of my clients.
